Tanjong Jara Resort: Epic Serenity

We JUST came back from Tanjong Jara Resort and we were truly cleansed; body, spirit and soul, by the amazing experience. We were there to celebrate our 6th Anniversary (already?).

The service was excellent and the food was simple but amazingly fresh and delicious. The place was peaceful, calm and serene. We were constantly in the dreamy state of mind.

Funny that one has to pay a premium to enjoy the simple things of life. Thankfully for this package, it was a seamless experience from flying off from Subang to TJR and back to PJ. Plus, we enjoyed some savings (although it still burnt a hole in our bank account).

Enough talk, let the pictures do the talking!

TJR lobby:

Our journey from the lobby to our room. Their staff, Siddiq, was showing us around. (All their staff are trained to address us by names; whenever, wherever)

Staircase leading up to our room

And... our room!

The magical bed! The mattress "hugs" you to sleep. The moment our head touched the pillows...zzz...ZZZ

And of course...the beach!

Low tide

High tide

Chilling out, while catching up with our reading

The TJR Spa, famous for its traditional Malay spa treatment

During dinner, were were serenaded by a duo playing gamelan music (very gentle, very soft traditional Malay music)

And finally, on our last night during dinner, Chef Ann surprised us with a small Anniversary cake! How did they know? Well, we were talking to the Guest Relations Manager (Miss Gin) the night before and through our conversations, she must have picked up all these details. So sweet of them!

While we were still commenting on their extraordinary service, when we headed back to our room after dinner, we were further surprised!

What's that little thing sitting on the corner of the bed?

It's an elephant made up of hand towels with a simple Happy Anniversary greeting written on a leaf!

AND AND...they jazzed up the bathtub with candles, warm water, foam and flower petals!

We had to do something to show our gratitude. Tipping would insult them as their service was well...priceless! So, we immediately "social network" our experience, Like their facebook page and wrote them a Thank You note. And here's a little something we did with the petals
