Komodo Island
Komodo Island is one of 17,508 islands that make up the Republic of Indonesia. The island has a surface area of 390 km ² and more than 2000 residents. Komodo is a part of the Lesser Sunda Islands chain and is part of Komodo National Park.
Administratively, these islands including Komodo district, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Komodo Island is the most western tip of Nusa Tenggara Timur province, bordering the West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia.
Komodo Island Tours
Komodo Island is known as a habitat for native animals dragons. Nevertheless, this island is also the Komodo National Park which is managed by the Central Government. Komodo Island have dormitory accommodation facilities, ranging from local communities who are prepared to resort to international standards.
Access to Komodo Island region, either through the route a plane from Kupang (capital of East Nusa Tenggara) to the town of Ende on Flores Island, followed by minibus to Labuhanbajo about 10 hours. From Labuhanbajo, then followed by a speedboat trip to Komodo Island for 2 hours.
